Rare Side Effects of Xanax
- Xanax must not be used if you have a serious liver disease or if youre allergic to it and other benzodiazepine drugs, like Valium, Tranxene, Ativan, Librium, Klonopin or Serax.
- Never take Xanax if you are pregnant or suspect that youre pregnant. The drug could possibly harm the fetus and result to various birth defects.
- Never drink alcohol while taking Xanax, since the drug will just increase the alcohols effect.
- Xanax is highly addictive and must only be used by someone whom the doctor prescribed the medication to. It shouldnt be shared with anyone else, especially with a person with a history of addiction or drug abuse.
Personal Note: I have personally taken Xanax in the past for my social anxiety. This is one of the most horrible meds to get addicted to. If a doctor offers you Xanax, make sure you only take it less than a week or two. If it goes further, it may become addicted to it. Trust me on this I know. I went from Xanax to Klonopin where things are a little better, but still can get bad every now and then.
Klonopin stabilizes you more at least that is my experience. However, if you decide to withdrawal from it, you may want to taper off little by little until your not taking it anymore. This will be very hard to do, so be patient and be persistent in overcoming the addiction to Xanax or Klonopin.
Serious Side Effects
Note: Some Xanax side effects are possibly serious, even if they only occur occasionally, and must be instantly reported to a healthcare provider.
Overdose Effects
Note: Effects caused by Xanax overdose can be fatal and must be reported to the doctor immediately.
